The North Central RC&D is helping roll out battery recycling at the 2026 Sandhills Ranch Expo in Bassett, Nebraska. Nebraska recently adopted the Safe Battery Collection and Recycling Act and this will be a test collection site. Items accepted include rechargeable batteries up to 11 pounds and under 300 watt-hours, single-use batteries, and cell phones of all types and ages. No damaged or defective batteries, wet-cell, or recalled batteries will be taken.  Please refer to the attached battery identification guide.
